The Hoosier Hunting Retriever Club was conceived by hunters, for hunters to give them the opportunity to work with their dogs, meet other people interested in the sport, and to participate in hunting retriever tests. Our primary goal is to help you sharpen your dogs natural abilities and become the dog you desire.

I hope all is going well with everyone. We are off to a good start and have had some good training days. New Member Day brought a number of new faces to the club. Our dogs are starting to get into the swing of training again. Overall, we are heading to a great 2010. A few important reminders for April
Hunt Test: Our Spring Hunt Test will be the weekend of April 10 and 11, 2010 and will be held at Farmland Conservation Club. We will need your help for this to be a success.
On Friday, April 9th we will set up the test. If you can be there to help out in the afternoon, that would be great. The more people we have the quicker it goes. For those that want to join us, we will be taking the Judges out for Dinner in Winchester after setting up the test.
For the Test on the 10th and 11th, we will get going around 7 am each day. Whether you are running a dog or not, we can use your help to make the test run smoothly. There will be a banquet on the 10th at Farmland to hand out ribbons and socialize. At the banquet, we do have a raffle to help raise funds to cover the test. If you are able to donate items, please bring them to a training day or to the test itself. These do not need to be hunting or dog training related.
I encourage you all to consider running your dogs if they are able. Contact Amy Monesmith at 317-490-9252 or amy@blackpowderretrievers.com to get your dogs entered. If you’re not going to run a dog, come out anyway. It’s a great time to see some really amazing dogs. We hope to see you there.
Remember to treat your dogs for fleas and ticks. The season is here and running through the fields attracts the little pests.
